Our priorities for the 2018 Victorian election

Victorian manufacturing is at a crossroads. Rising energy and port costs, high taxes and increasing regulatory burdens have made us a hostile location for manufacturers and investors.

As other states and territories vie to attract domestic and international manufacturing investment, Victoria needs to do more to stay competitive and secure its manufacturing future.

We present six action areas and our recommendations for reducing the cost of doing business in Victoria. We call on the Victorian Government to commit to: Delivering globally competitive, affordable and reliable gas and electricity A balanced regulatory environment that delivers outcomes while stimulating investment and growth Ensuring access to globally competitive major infrastructure Nationally competitive taxation Investing in skills and innovation to meet domestic and global needs Supporting world’s best practice to reduce waste and maximise recycling.
