The Board of Chemistry Australia is pleased to announce the appointment of Matthew Flügge to the role of CEO, commencing in April.
Matthew was previously the Vice President Global External Affairs at Dyno Nobel (formerly Incitec Pivot) and joins Chemistry Australia with more than 25 years of leadership experience in Corporate Affairs, Communications, Media, and Government & Industry Relations.
Dr Grant Lukey, Interim Chair of Chemistry Australia, said Matthew was an outstanding professional who has the leadership skills and in-depth knowledge of the Australian plastics and chemicals sector to guide members and the broader industry through a new era of opportunities.
“Matthew brings deep expertise and proven leadership to the CEO role, with extensive experience in government, regulatory, and policy strategy,” Dr Lukey said.
“Matthew also has a significant career background in the chemistry sector, giving him valuable insight into the vital contribution our $48 billion industry makes to the economy.”

Outgoing CEO Samantha Read will continue to provide support during the leadership transition and conclude her tenure on Thursday 30 April.
