Applications open: 2026 Chemistry Australia CEW Woman Leader in STEM Scholarship

Applications for the 2026 Woman Leader in STEM scholarship are now open for eligible women leaders in the Australian chemicals and plastics industry.

Chemistry Australia has partnered with Chief Executive Women (CEW) to send one leader to the Women Transforming Leadership Programme at Oxford Said Business School, a fully funded opportunity worth up to $25,000.

The scholarship is open to women at Chemistry Australia member companies, their supply chain partners, and candidates from across the chemistry industry nationally.

The scholarship includes:

  • Course fees for the 5-day Women Transforming Leadership Programme (8-12 March 2027, Oxford)
  • Accommodation for the duration of the course
  • Up to $3,000 towards travel
  • A ticket to the 2027 CEW Annual Dinner and the 2027 Chemistry Australia Industry Awards
  • Lifetime membership to the CEW alumni network, CEW Connect Women

Eligibility criteria:

  • Currently working in the Australian chemistry industry
  • Senior manager or executive (CEO or no more than four levels below)
  • 5-10 years of senior leadership experience, including P&L management, strategic planning and people leadership
  • Endorsed by your organisation's Executive or Board
  • Australian citizen or resident

Past scholars describe their time at Oxford Saïd Business School as a genuinely life- and career-changing experience.

2025 scholar Alison McGregor described the course as an opportunity to calibrate your thinking, expand your global perspective, and connect with women navigating similar leadership journeys.

"I would encourage you to reflect on your own journey, imagine future leadership identities and find your courage to apply,” said Ms McGregor.

“It's a life-changing experience that will stretch you, inspire you, and connect you with a global community of courageous female leaders."
