Chemistry Australia partner HR Legal will host it's second quarterly webinar webinar on the new Psychosocial Workplace Regulations in Victoria, due to be implemented in December 2025.
The webinar will take place online between 12:00 - 1:00pm AEDT Wednesday 3 December.
The Webinar is a free expert-led 1-hour training session for Chemistry Australia members, delivered by Fleur McKay-Calvert, Special Counsel at HR Legal.
This practical briefing is designed specifically for members responsible for managing workforce and compliance risks, including employers, HR partners, and business leaders.
Background
From 1 December 2025, the Occupational Health and Safety (Psychological Health) Regulations 2025 and Compliance Code will come into effect in Victoria.
The Regulations will require employers in Victoria to identify psychosocial hazards and control the associated risks, so far as is reasonably practicable. While these obligations appear new, the duty to proactively manage psychosocial risks already exist under the Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004 (Vic). The new Regulations, however, bring added clarity and expectations of compliance, and align with regulations introduced in other Australian states and territories.
In light of these upcoming changes, it is now more important than ever for Chemistry Australia member companies to ensure their systems, policies and training are aligned with the updated legal framework and more stringent reporting requirements.
This FREE webinar exclusive for Chemistry Australia members will provide an essential overview of the new Regulations, their implications, and the steps employers should take to comply.
The webinar will cover:
- An overview of the Psychological Health Regulations 2025 and Compliance Code
- What constitutes a ‘psychosocial hazard’
- Employer duties and “reasonably practicable” controls
- How the new requirements interact with existing OHS and workplace behaviour obligations
- Legal risks of non-compliance
- Key actions employers should take to comply with the Regulations
