Don't Let it Go to Waste! 2024

04 November 2024

Members are invited to participate in two events to help keep our environment clean and create awareness around preventing plastic waste from getting into our waterways and oceans.

Together with members Dow and Viva Energy, and NGO partner Tangaroa Blue, we are bringing together two industry clean up campaigns - #PullingOurWeight and The Great Nurdle Hunt – into combined events that will take place in Melbourne and Sydney in December.

In Melbourne, the clean up will take place at Patterson River in Carrum on Tuesday 10 December. The event will run from 11am-1pm and include guest speakers, a Nurdle Hunt and general clean up, and a networking opportunity.

In Sydney, the clean up on Thursday 12 December will be hosted by Tangaroa Blue Foundation and NSW Environment Protection Authority (NSW EPA). The event will be held at Plane Spotters Beach in Botany and will run from 10.00am-12.00pm. The agenda will include guest speakers, a Nurdle Hunt and general clean up, and a networking opportunity.

Past events saw a great turnout from industry members, Chemistry Australia, the EPA and community partners, and we hope to have the industry's support for these events again in 2024.

The events aim to help identify sources of plastic pollution and plastic resin pellet loss, as well as opportunities for the industry to work collaboratively through their supply chains to reduce the loss of plastic feedstock into the environment.

To register your staff team, please email prior to Wednesday 4 December at the link below, indicating which event you would like to attend and the number of people attending.

We look forward to seeing you in Sydney or Melbourne and encourage you to also invite other industry members to join the event.
