Company representatives from across the chemistry industry and supply chain will join forces for two Great Nurdle Hunt events held in in Sydney and Melbourne in October.
The first Great Nurdle Hunt will take place at Plane Spotter’s Beach in Botany on Monday 16 October. This will be followed by a second Nurdle Hunt at Westgate Park, Port Melbourne, on Wednesday 18 October.
Past events saw a great turnout from industry members, industry associations, the EPA and community partners, and organisers are expecting an even bigger turnout in 2023.
The events aim to help identify sources of plastic resin pellet loss, as well as opportunities for the industry to work collaboratively through their supply chains to reduce the loss of plastic resin pellets into the environment.
It is also designed to draw attention to the impacts of plastic resin pellet loss from all parts of the plastics value-chain into the environment, and the simple but effective steps businesses can implement through Operation Clean Sweep® to prevent it.
