Australian Standards play an important role in ensuring that products, services and systems are safe, reliable and capable of achieving their intended purpose.  Standards also play an important role facilitating international trade and providing market access to Australian exporters.

Standards Australia is the peak, non-government, a not-for-profit standards setting organisation in Australia. Standards Australia bring together experts to establish Standards for Australia.

Standards Australia works closely with overseas standards setting bodies and the International Standards Organisation (ISO).  Many Australian standards incorporate elements of ISO standards.

Chemistry Australia is a member of Standards Australia and a nominating organisation for a range of Technical Committees. Chemistry Australia members take a keen interest in Australian standards impacting their market sector and represent the industry on standards setting committees.

Members wishing to nominate for Technical Committees should be aware that they represent the interests of all Chemistry Australia members. Members wishing to nominate as a Chemistry Australia representative for a Technical Committee should contact Chemistry Australia

A full list of Chemistry Australia representatives on Standards Australia Technical Committees can be accessed by members in the Member Portal.
