Monash University Innovation Symposium

Chemicals and Polymers GRIP Innovation Showcase Symposium previews the future of industry

The industry-based research of the Chemicals and Polymers Graduate Research Industry Partnership (C&P GRIP) students was recently celebrated at an Innovation Showcase Symposium hosted by Monash University.

During the symposium, supporters from across industry and the research community were given the opportunity to network with GRIP students and preview the industry research programs.

Guest speakers including former Australian Chief Scientist Professor Ian Chubb AC, Professor Jordan Nash Dean Faculty of Science at Monash and Dr Tim Cahill Director R&D Advisory of KPMG praised the quality of Australia’s research capability and emphasised the need for Australia to foster a culture of innovation beyond the university campus.

Chemistry Australia CEO Samantha Read said Chemistry Australia was proud to be a founding partner of C&P GRIP, which has been a very successful industry-led PhD program.

“We understand how important innovation is to support growth and build Australia’s competitive advantage in global and domestic markets,” Ms Read said.

“Through collaborative partnerships between industry and universities, Australia has the opportunity to drive greater innovation and promote growth in the Australian economy.

“We are proud of our long-standing relationship with Monash University and its C&P GRIP program is a fantastic example of what can be achieved when industry and the research community work together.”

Monash University has compiled a series of videos to showcase the Chemicals and Polymers Graduate Research Industry Partnership (GRIP), which are available to view below.
