PACIA CEO Samantha Read receives Monash University Faculty of Engineering 2015 Distinguished Alumni Award - 29 October 2015

PACIA CEO, Samantha Read, has received the Monash University 2015 Distinguished Alumni Award for the Faculty of Engineering.

“I am thrilled to receive the award in such illustrious company. And it’s particularly pleasing to meet so many women in the many organisations and associations that I encounter every day, who have chosen to pursue STEM-based courses and careers,” Ms Read said.

“I’ve had such a rewarding and interesting career to date thanks to my education at Monash. It’s wonderful to receive this ongoing recognition from my faculty. I hope that this award shows the exciting and diverse opportunities that a degree in engineering can provide.”

Ms Read was presented with the award by the current Chancellor and incumbent Australian Chief Scientist, Dr. Alan Finkel, at a graduation ceremony on 28 October 2015, held at Robert Blackwood Hall, Clayton.

Ms Read is a passionate advocate for a strong and diversified Australian economy with manufacturing as a valued component, driving investment, jobs, development of new technology and research.

Ms Read said she was very honoured to have been chosen for this award and thanked the Council of Monash University and the Faculty of Engineering for this significant recognition of her career and achievements. Read more about the award.

Ms Read holds a Bachelor of Engineering with Honours in Materials Engineering from Monash University. She is also a graduate from the Australian Institute of Company Directors and was a finalist in the 2014 Telstra Business Women’s Awards.
